The KidsHaven Program, located in Bethlehem, is a shelter and long-term Foster Care program for unaccompanied children and adolescents. The program is geared towards helping youth adjust to our customs and culture as they transition to life in our local communities. KidsHaven also offers therapeutic guidance and support to adolescents who are planning for their futures--all in their native language.
The Bilingual Youth Care Worker is responsible for providing direct supervision, support and direction to children and adolescents in a compassionate and respectful manner. This includes providing an unwavering commitment to the safety of kids and being aware of all ongoing developments and concerns on a daily basis.
Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age. High School graduate or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health or related field preferred. Some experience with children or adolescents is helpful, as is experience with immigrant populations. Valid driver's license preferred. Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills. Ability to converse and write in English and Spanish. The candidate must pass a Criminal Record History Clearance and a Child Abuse History Clearance which are processed by KidsPeace. The candidate must pass a Physical & Drug Screening & possess the ability to attend and successfully complete all KidsPeace sponsored trainings. EOE
