Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Care Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will ensure and promote a safe, positive environment while effectively caring for, supervising, counseling, and managing crises and emergencies. You will work under the direction of the Program Specialist and/or their designee to assist in the oversight and implementation of all programmatic functions and individualized treatment plans. Job Title: Child Care Counselor Pay: $20-25/hr Location: Vista, CA Schedule: Saturday/Sunday: 7:00am – 3:00pm Monday: 2:30pm – 10:30pm Tuesday: 2:30pm – 10:30pm Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Maintain a therapeutic environment by supervising youth, using positive discipline and behavior modification techniques, and effectively using crisis intervention techniques. + Counsel and teach life skills, observe and promptly respond to behavioral issues, and adhere to safety standards. + Enforce the daily program schedule and ensure treatment plans are effectively implemented. + Document residents’ daily behavior using New Haven protocols and reports. + Teach and model desirable health and personal habits, as well as Independent Living Skills (e.g., housekeeping, cooking). + Safely operate a van or company vehicle when driving residents, maintaining cleanliness standards and reporting maintenance concerns. + Administer medications and follow medically related protocols according to safe and regulated policies. + Perform related duties as assigned and attend all staff trainings and meetings, demonstrating competency in associated knowledge and skills. Qualification Requirements: + Interact well with others, follow rules and directions from supervisors, and accept constructive criticism. + Contribute to an environment free of harassment and unlawful discrimination. + Work under stress without causing danger or disruption to others. + Maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
