Youth Development Professional Requisition Number 2025-8014 Overview

The Youth Development Professional will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs and services at our main site in Monterey Park. Plan and implement program activities with particular focus on asynchronous work/homework help and enrichment activities. Staff will follow and implement program and student wok schedule on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

Key Roles: (Essential Job Responsibilities)

· Help children with Homework (Asynchronous work)

· Follow daily activity plans for enrichment and physical activities

· Implement discipline techniques and classroom management

· Ensure all youth are properly supervised and encouraged to participate in activities

· Record and submit daily attendance records of participants

· Provide opportunities to observe holidays that explore cultural diversity. (Cinco De Mayo, Chinese New Year, Etc.)

· Promote achievement through displays of recognition on the walls of the Club (Pictures, Projects and Awards)

· Ability to develop programs based on knowledge/interests. (i.e. Photography. Art, Music, etc.)

· Provide leadership and supervision ensuring safety of club members at all times

· Maintain appearance and functionality of the Club and its equipment, supplies and materials.

· Assist in Club Transportation Program (Obtain/Maintain Class C License)

· Ensure all Club policies and procedures are upheld in accordance with our Club mission with all program staff

· Other duties as assigned will be required as well. You must be flexible as determined by the needs of the program (occasional Saturdays and late night hours, events).

Qualifications

This is a part-time, non-benefited, non-exempt position with an hourly rate ranging from $18.00-$20.00 per hour DOE. This position requires the candidate to be available for work Monday-Friday approx 1:30PM-7:00PM. Requires occasional weekend work as well.

Minimum qualifications: Must currently have a valid Class C drivers license and a reliable means of transportation to work. Applicants will submit to a fingerprint/background check and submit a clean "K-4" printout from the DMV.
