Job Location: Brooklyn, NY Position Type: Seasonal Salary Range: $16.00 Hourly Job Category: Education Job Description What The Group Leader Does: + Research, develop and execute fun and engaging lesson plans (activities), to create opportunities for discovery learning, adventure, and recreation. + Provide group and/or individual assistance to "at-risk" children and/or youth student participants in academic and/or nonacademic activities. + Participate in client progress meetings/conferences with parents and school personnel. + Participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested. + Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports. + May actively solicit and coordinate internship or job opportunities for clients. + Tasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over time. Job Qualifications Minimum Education/Experience Required: + HS diploma or GED and currently enrolled or some college coursework + Experience working with youth (ex. camp counselor, babysitting, child care / daycare) + Classroom experience a plus Other Requirements: + Bilingual (Spanish) Preferred  + Ability to obtain and maintain: + Doctor's note certifying good health + Proof of negative results from TB test + State Central Registry (SCR) clearance + Dept. of Health fingerprint clearance (DOH) + Dept. of Education fingerprint clearance (DOE) Powered by JazzHR
