Responsibilities Summary The Youth Monitor implements the activities which support the daily schedule of the facility. In addition, this position supervises and interacts with participants, observes and addresses participant behavior, and documents services in participant files. This position provides direct services to youth in a structured setting while supporting facilitators. Learns, uses and models principles of the “What Works” system through evidence-based practices in all interactions with participants and other staff members. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Youth Monitor may facilitate orientation and psycho-educational/behavior modification groups on a daily basis. Documents participants’ attendance, participation and progress in Company database. Interacts with and supervises participants during daily activities in a manner that ensures their safety and security. The Youth Monitor maintains regular communication with supervisor and co-workers. Observes participant behavior and redirects appropriately. The Youth Monitor processes intakes and screens participants according to program policy. Facilitates and documents various groups or meetings. The Youth Monitor demonstrates appropriate use of participant intervention skills. Maintains regular communication with supervisor and co-workers. The Youth Monitor implements and supports the company’s mission and philosophy; follows the company’s policies on professional expectations, code of conduct, and other practices and procedures. Adheres to attendance policy; work overtime as required, to ensure adequate coverage of the program and to ensure the safety and security of the participants. The Youth Monitor maintains confidentiality of information related to participant information. Demonstrates professionalism in performance of job. The Youth Monitor demonstrates effort in professional development. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years college coursework in Human Services or Criminal Justice discipline preferred. Minimum of six (6) months’ experience in Human Services field with direct services preferred. Minimum of six (6) months’ experience working with minority populations preferred. Effective communication skills with internal and external contacts at all levels. Must be able to react quickly and appropriately in an emergency situation. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Solid computer skills and proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) skills may be required. Must maintain security clearance for facility. GEO Reentry Services LLC.
