Position: Youth Program Assistant

Department: Allentown Citadel Corps

Availability of Position: Immediate

Schedule: Part Time, 25 hours per week - Monday through Friday from 1PM to 6PM

Supervises: N/A

Reporting Relationship: Youth Program Coordinator

Salary and Grade:$15.00 per hour; 74 Non-Exempt

Position Overview:  

The Youth Program Assistant is responsible for directing and assisting with all Salvation Army youth educational and recreational programs for young people such as, after school program, summer day camp, seasonal programs,  and any other youth activities.

 

Responsibilities

Description of Position:    

 

Be an essential part of youth program’s leadership team. Coordinating and assisting with programming ideas with the entire team in the youth department. This includes a positive, healthy relationship with other team members. Provide direction and leadership during all youth activities, particularly with after school programs and summer day camp.

The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the candidate will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.

 

Qualifications

Requirements:    

*High School graduate or GED completion with 1-2 years of related experience.

*Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following: clearance and background checks prior to employment:   PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check along with renewals every 5 years.

*Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
