The Youth Quality Improvement Specialist (YQIS) is an individual who has been involved with the child welfare system as a youth. The YQIS oversees all aspects of planning, design, and execution of assigned small, routine projects and coordinates with project stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Assists in timeline development, ensures adherence to timeframes, and adjusts project deliverables to avoid issues.Performs budgetary functions and administrative tasks. Assists with external consultant and vendor selection, negotiation, and management.Project Manager for the PA Youth Advisory Board (YAB), overseeing Statewide YAB meetings and supporting the facilitation of regional and local chapters with minimal supervision.Manage regional consultants by approving project logs, TBs, and providing necessary support to offer technical assistance and expand YAB at regional and local levels.Manage the annual Youth Summit, including organizing and coordinating keynote speakers, collaborating with youth and regional consultants on trainings, and managing registration and hotel contracts.Manage and coordinate the Speaker’s Bureau process, including handling applications, conducting interviews, organizing training, and providing mentoring.Mentor and support Youth Ambassadors.The Child Welfare Resource Center operates in a hybrid work approach where work can be completed remotely, in the Mechanicsburg office, and in the field as necessary and appropriate. Time for this position is estimated as 70% remote work, 10% in the Mechanicsburg office, and 20% in the field. Preferred Experience Level: 3-5 years’ experience. Experience working with ethnically and culturally diverse populations preferred. A commitment to achieving equity and inclusion in the child welfare system is a must.

Effective communication, along with strong reading, writing, and oral presentation skills, is required. The YQIS must have a basic understanding of computer operation, office equipment, LCD projectors, and other training aids. A valid driver’s license or the ability to travel as needed to fulfill essential job functions is also required.
