As a Youth Residential Therapist, your primary responsibility is to assess, diagnose, and treat clients/patients based on their individual needs. This involves conducting thorough assessments to understand their presenting concerns, gathering relevant background information, rendering a diagnosis, and formulating a treatment plan. Therapists utilize evidence-based interventions and techniques to help clients develop coping strategies, improve their relationships, and enhance their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual, group, family, and/or other practical counseling in a variety of settings to meet the treatment goals of clients/patients.Complete intake/screening and/or comprehensive assessment processes within designated timeframes set by state regulations/accreditation/agency standards.Determine and document diagnoses based on comprehensive assessments.Develop individualized treatment plans that reflect the information gathered during assessments and comply with agency standards.Participate in clinical staffing/treatment meetings, providing feedback on relevant cases.Meet department-specific Collaborative Service Goal (CSG) requirements.Work closely with internal departments to ensure authorized services are approved and provide adequate information in specified time frames.Document all services provided per state regulations/accreditation/agency standards and address any deficiencies in files/charts promptly.Assist clients/patients through the transition process and complete necessary correspondence.Maintain professional relationships with clients, referral sources, and coworkers, adhering to the Code of Ethics and agency policies.Handle crisis situations as they arise and participate in emergency services coordination.Facilitate group counseling, family therapy, and individual sessions, including specialty services such as trauma and co-occurring disorders.Provide training and guidance on clinical issues and evidence-based practices.[Additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership].

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Must possess at least a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.Hold licensure with the applicable board of professional registration for the state you are practicing as a professional counselor or social worker (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT).Willingness to become licensed in additional states and comfortable providing telehealth services (training will be provided).

Additional Qualifications:

Thorough knowledge of diagnostic criteria for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.Detailed understanding of caseload management and rehabilitation methods relevant to mental health treatment.Ability to establish effective relationships through phone, telehealth, and personal contacts.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
