Description
The expected hiring range for this position is $66,144.00 - $77,168.00 annually.
Lee County seeks a Youth Services Programming Coordinator to provide system-wide leadership for the youth and teen programming efforts of the 13-branch library system. This role serves on the library’s administrative team to provide back-of-house support to the various library locations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for public service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with others in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include overseeing youth programming and outreach, coordinating the annual Summer Reading Program and other system-wide initiatives, assisting with large-scale events, and developing and maintaining relationships with schools and other organizations that serve area youth.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Coordinate and oversee system-wide youth services and young adult programming.
+ Conduct system-wide youth services and young adult programming meetings.
+ Assist with planning and publicizing the Summer Reading Program and facilitate branch summer events and activities for youth and teens.
+ Monitor and assure consistency and quality of branch programming to youth and teens.
+ Work with community partners and other county departments on programming initiatives.
+ Assist in the development of the system-wide programming budget.
+ Coordinate the activities of multiple staff members and volunteers at large-scale events.
+ Write programming grants and ensure completion of grant and statistical reports.
+ Review and approve publicity related to library programs and events.
+ Oversee preparation of performer agreements and other program-related documents.
+ Oversee the purchase of programming supplies and resources.
+ Prepare, plan, and present outreach and in-house programs, as needed.
+ Operate County vehicles when visiting offsite locations for programming, events, outreach, and storage.
+ Collaborate with the Programming and Outreach team on youth activities and adult programming, as needed.
+ Provide prompt, courteous customer service to library staff members and patrons of diverse ages and backgrounds.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Minimum Requirements:
+ Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in Library or Information Science or a closely related field from an accredited graduate library school program.
+ Requires two years of library, customer service, or closely related experience.
+ Possession of a Florida Driver’s License.
Preferred Requirements:
+ A Master's degree in Library or Information Science from an accredited graduate library school program.
+ Four years of related library experience, including one to two years of supervisory experience.
+ Experience and/or education related to children's and teen literature and programming.
Supplemental Information
+ Knowledge of current professional public library principles, methods, and practices; relevant computer applications, and literature for various ages and interests; and the ability to supervise and direct the work of others.
+ Ability to communicate orally and in writing and relate positively to a diverse population.
+ Exceptional communication skills.

Additional Information:
+ This position is assigned to Library Administration, a standalone office environment supporting the 13 library branches in Lee County.
+ Travel to and from various library locations is occasionally required.
+ This position requires 80 hours bi-weekly; hours and days will vary to include evenings, Saturdays, and some Sundays.
+ The County may require employees to make a temporary, or long-term, permanent transfer to another library location to accommodate the organization's business needs.
