Youth Services Staff Associate Penfield, NY (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=1835+Fairport+Nine+Mile+Line+R+Penfield+NY+USA+14526) • Eastside Job Type Full-time Description $24 per hour plus generous benefits including a free membership Under the general direction of the Program Director – Day Camp, the Program Staff Associate – Youth Services is responsible for the planning, administration, supervision and development of all programming as it relates to the operation and management of youth services programs. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: · Overall responsibility for child watch and drop-off programs including, Child Watch, Adventure Center and Parents Time Off. · Overall responsibility for Family Fun Nights and Eastside Family Events. · Responsible for hiring, training, supervision, and continued development of program staff. · Act as a liaison between parent and program regarding parent or participant concerns and work as the key leader to assure that a safe, fun and quality program is provided in all areas. · General oversight of all on site programs in accordance with the policies, values, and standards established by the Association. · Responsible for assisting with the financial development of Annual Campaign. · Responsible for the overall facility appearance of the child watch/adventure center program areas. · Accountable for assistance with the department budget development and management. Ensure a strong fiscal position and appropriate resource allocation. · Serve as a member of the branch staff team, assisting with special events, programming, and committees as assigned. · Ensure all program operations are consistent with Association procedures, including; emergency, accident, purchasing, personnel, and accounting systems. · Ensure department is adhering Emergency Action Plans, and Association Safety Policy. · Implement programs that identify safety, quality, and excellent customer service as top priorities. · Attend all required meetings and training. Requirements · Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED. A bachelor’s degree in early childhood, recreation, physical education or other related field preferred. · Must have full range of knowledge in youth programming. · Experience implementing and managing high quality programs. · Must have at least one year experience in a supervisory role with skills in recruiting, training and staff management. · Must be self-motivated, hands on team leader with strong communications, networking and collaboration skills. · High level of attention to detail and quality of programming, service and facilities. · Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage several projects at once and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. · Polished, professional demeanor with excellent written and spoken communication skills. · Demonstrated success in driving revenue and managing expenses. · Experience in fundraising and individual gift solicitation and cultivation · Must have current CPR/AED, Standard First Aid or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: · Must be able to stand for extended duration of shift. · Must be able to bend and stoop frequently. · Must be able to lift at least twenty-five pounds. · Must be able to communicate verbally and communicate swiftly and effectively with emergency personnel in person and over the telephone. Salary Description $24.00 per hour
