This job listing for a Venue Zero Waste Coordinator at the BankNH Pavilion offers a chance to make a meaningful environmental impact within the entertainment industry. In this seasonal role, you’ll play a key part in advancing sustainability initiatives, under the guidance of the Venue Sustainability manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring maximum landfill diversionEvent waste sortingEducating fans and staff in recycling recovery processContributing to the venue sustainability culturePosition Details:
Seasonal, Part-Time: April to OctoberVariable Hours: based on show schedule and venue needsThis is an opportunity to help set industry standards in zero-waste initiatives and shape a culture of sustainability at a renowned venue.
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in Zero Waste Captain on-boarding trainingAssist in the mid and post-show sorting process of all recycling, composting, and landfill materialsBe available to work show days and non-show days to ensure all waste is sorted and diverted.Relay boots on the ground observations to guide areas of improvement and overall program developmentContribute ideas to improve material circularity based on most commonly seen items in the waste streamAssist the Sustainability Manager with educational support to all crew members and fansMaintain a clean sorting area and support the post-show pick after each eventSupport compliance with local environmental policies and mandatesBe an ambassador to all Band Members in order to help them understand their role in achieving the venue’s sustainability goalsAssist in employee engagement programs such as the water bottle refill punch cards, post show sort giveaways and new ideasEngage fans and encourage them to participate in our sustainability programs through activities or educationResponsible for entering availability 3 weeks in advance through the ABIMM system. Employee is further responsible for communicating with the supervisor should that availability change.Ensuring that time worked is accurately captured through the ABIMM system.Qualifications:
Position requires about 90% of the time spent walking, bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and carrying 50 lbs.+ with about 75% of that time spent sorting materialsNot afraid to get dirty or be around unpleasant odorsAbility to work outside in variable weatherStrong time management skills to show up on time and work late hoursDedication to participate in something that will have a real and immediate impact to the causeMust be able to work well with other departmentsExperience in events, zero waste events are a plusMust possess a positive attitudeCreative thinker and problem solverA strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programsDaytime availability – most of our sorting happens the day after a show takes placeMust NOT be afraid to get dirty!So, join us!
